چکیده

Abstract Although the identification and analysis of structures with a localized nonlinearity, either weak or strong, is within reach, multiple nonlinearities coexisting at different locations still challenge, especially if these are strong. In such cases, identifying each nonlinearity separately requires tedious work may not be possible all in some cases. this paper, an approach for experimental modal nonlinear systems by using Response-Controlled stepped-sine Testing (RCT) proposed. The proposed applicable to several various locations, provided that modes well separated no internal resonances occur. Step-sine testing carried out keeping displacement amplitude driving point constant yields quasi-linear frequency response functions directly, from which parameters can identified as mode concern, employing standard linear tools. Experimental study of isolas in nonlinear systems featuring modal interactions

The objective of the present paper is to provide experimental evidence of isolated resonances in the frequency response of nonlinear mechanical systems. More specifically, this work explores the presence of isolas, which are periodic solutions detached from the main frequency response, in the case of a nonlinear set-up consisting of two masses sliding on a horizontal guide. A careful experiment...

Damage identification of structures using experimental modal analysis and continuous wavelet transform

Abstract: Modal analysis is a powerful technique for understanding the behavior and performance of structures. Modal analysis can be conducted via artificial excitation, e.g. shaker or instrument hammer excitation. Input force and output responses are measured. That is normally referred to as experimental modal analysis (EMA). EMA consists of three steps: data acquisition, system identificatio...

Vibration of cracked plate using differential quadrature method and experimental modal analysis

In this study, the vibration of cracked plates is investigated using the differential quadrature method and experimental modal analysis. The crack, which is assumed to be open, is modeled by the extended rotational spring. With its finite length, the crack divides the plate into six segments. Then, the differential quadrature is applied to the governing differential equations of motion and the ...
